What to Know before your Reading

What is a reading like?

It’s like having a conversation with a best friend. Someone who knows you well, doesn’t judge, and gives you the best possible advice or guidance. Receiving messages is not a perfect science. It’s more of an interpretive art. The Intuitive may hear, see, feel or know something but needs the person sitting for the reading to offer clarity on what is being brought forward. Sometimes, the person receiving the reading can’t make the connection to the message right away and that’s ok. That’s why taking notes is important. The connection could come at a later time. The Intuitive won’t ask for a lot of information or validation unless it’s needed to confirm the Intuitive is on the right path. All readings are confidential. It stays between you and the Intuitive. The Intuitive will likely explain their process to you before they dive into the reading. Remember – you are always responsible for your own life. When you receive advice from your guides, deceased loved ones, etc., it’s still up to you to use reasonable discretion and intelligence when you put it into practice. The information you receive during a reading should be used as a guideline for further action. You should always seek the advice of a financial, medical or legal expert when needed.

How should I prepare for my reading?

Whether this is your first or tenth reading, always start with a clear, relaxed mind. Engage in thoughtful meditation for at least 10 minutes prior to your scheduled reading and focus on the areas of your life where you want insight and advice. As your reading time draws near, make sure your environment is free of distractions (ex: TV, loud music playing, pets, children, etc). It is important that both the Intuitive and person being read are in a calm, quiet space. Be sure you’re alone. If there is someone else in the room you may not feel free to talk about the often private and personal issues that can come up during readings. You can also burn Palo Santo or White Sage to cleanse any lingering or negative energy from yourself and the space. Have pen and paper handy to take notes during the reading. A lot will be shared that you may want to refer back to at a later date. This preparation is important for both phone and in person readings.

What should I do after my reading?

A reading can sometimes be emotional especially when connecting to deceased loved ones. It often takes time to process all the information from the reading. There are a lot of energies surrounding you during the reading so it is very important to take some time and “turn off” the extra thoughts. Allow yourself to reflect on what you’ve heard in the reading. You can also choose to go for a walk, listen to some light music, or meditate to create calm. If questions arise after your reading, try referring to the notes you took for clarity. Most times the answer has been provided.

What does it mean to be Clairvoyant, Clairaudient, Clairsentient, and Claircognizant?

Clairvoyant means Clear Seeing or Clear Perceptiveness as with the 3rd eye. A Clairvoyant is a person who can see images in their mind’s eye and these images can be symbols, scenes, or people. These images can help guide upcoming decisions a person will need to make, help a person chart their soul path, support improved wellness and abundance, or provide emotional clarity and balance. Clairaudient means that the person has the intuitive ability of extreme Clear Hearing and tends to be related to those who can hear telepathically other’s thought or information from Spirit Guides. Clairaudients are those with the ability to hear those in Spirit speaking to you externally or internally but is inaudible to others. Clairsentient means that the person has extreme Clear Feeling. Clairsentients feel energy and pick up on vibrations subconsciously. They receive messages through sensing feelings rather than hearing voices (clairaudience) or seeing images (clairvoyance). Clairsentients use the sixth sense (a nagging feeling about something that won’t go away) instead of using the five normal senses (smell, vision, touch, hearing, and taste) to feel the present, past, or future physical or emotional states of people, places, things, spirits, and energy. It’s all about picking up information through emotions. Claircognizant means that the person has extreme Clear Thinking or Deep Knowing. Claircognizance comes with powerful gut instincts. It can come in the form of predictions or premonitions, a feeling of certainty or correctness. You may have knowledge of certain places, events, situations, or people without having received the information in a traditional manner. Many times, you just know the answer but can’t explain how you came into that information.

What is a Medium?

A Medium is a person who has the ability to communicate with the “other side”. A Medium is the conduit between the living and spiritual worlds. It’s like being a spiritual receptionist. Answer the call from Spirit, make the connection, and then deliver the messages to the intended recipient. Mediums receive information, often shared through the use of symbols, from the spirit of the deceased person or animal who wishes to communicate to their loved ones who are still alive. You are not alone. You have a spiritual support team standing by on the other side (deceased loved ones, deceased pets, Angels, Guides, Ascended Masters, etc) who are ready to help you navigate life by providing divine spiritual guidance, support, love, peace, and confirmation. Connecting with those who have passed before us is a beautiful experience.
